Antiochian Women

Mary and Martha
We women here at All Saints Church have a rich and varied church life. We are actively involved in the liturgy and the maintenance of our church facilities, we participate in missions, we perform acts of charity, we work with our youth, and we support archdiocesan activities.
The mission and vision of the Women’s Group is “To develop among the women of All Saints a spirit of Christian leadership, awareness, and commitment as taught in the Holy Orthodox Church by fostering a genuine expression of love and service through fellowship, works of charity, and committing to a deeper understanding of our roles as Orthodox Christian women.” Our Patronal Saints are Sts. Mary and Martha, as models of service and meditation.
Some of the women’s ministries include church feasts, celebrations (baptisms, chrismations, weddings), comfort and encouragement, meals for homebound or ill, MOPS (Mothers of Young Children), church prayer notification, and various works of charity. In 2009, the women of All Saints hope to assist Project Mexico meet their goal of raising funds for their 2009 mission trip. The Annual Women’s Tea will be held mid February.
Every Fall, the women attend a retreat at Dormition Orthodox Monastery in Rives Junction, Michigan . This year, we were blessed to hear Mother Macrina speak on “Living in the NOW.” We enjoyed fellowship with one another as we strolled through their beautiful grounds already covered in a layer of snow.
